Course Description

YOU MUST ENROLL AND PAY DIRECTLY THROUGH CODEWIZARDS. The enrollment for this course can be found at www.codewizardshq.com/ce and please choose Forest Hills for School District. Students build a strong foundation in computational and solution-oriented thinking by creating fun animations, engaging stories and interactive games with Scratch. Scratch is a visual, drag and drop coding platform built by MIT, specifically for young students who are just getting started with programming. This course is intended for elementary-school students with no or inconsistent exposure to block based programming like Scratch or Code.org and want a more structured program. It is also ideal for absolute beginners. This is an interactive, virtual, LIVE class taught by an instructor in real-time (not recorded videos). It is a small group class of 6-8 students with ample opportunity for individual attention and group work. It’s an engaging, effective and convenient way to learn. Students will need a laptop less than 5 years old with a good internet connection.
