Course Description

Did you know avocados make pretty pink yarn, or that weeds make stunning yellow fabric? Natural dying has a long history; don't let the practice dye out! You'll learn recipes on which to build your own experiments, make dyes colorfast/lightfast, and dye with nature's primaries (red, yellow, and blue). Learn about the benefits/possibilities of botanical dyes made with kitchen leftovers, garden plants, weeds, exotic botanicals, and bugs! $22 material fee payable to the instructor in the first class.
