Course Description

Create art and practice with various tools and products in a fun art journal of your own. Find a hobby or direction you might like to continue. Expressing yourself is a great stress reliever and very rewarding. No artist credentials required; just prepare to enjoy the process and play. Use paints, stencils, stickers, embellishments, collage materials, modeling paste, stamps, and inkpads. A supply list will be given upon registration. $10 materials fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class.   


Class supplies: Mix-Media journal or heavy paper notebook suitable for painting on. Mix-Media grade paper; Canson XL books. (Blue Book) Available at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, other art supply stores; comes in various sizes. It is great for acrylic and watercolor paints plus pen and pencil work. Another good option is Strathmore notebooks (Yellow Book). Watercolor paper, heavy weight for wet media. Sources are same as above. Start out with smaller notebook (81/2 x 11 or 5 x 7). Numerous notebooks available; be sure they have heavy grade papers. Roll of waxed paper or craft mat. A student set of standard acrylic paint brushes. Apron, shears or scissors, small notebook for note taking.
