Course Description

The vast repertoire of songs that have come to be called The Great American Songbook range from light entertainment to the sublime and even profound. The most well crafted are American cousins to the European art songs of the 19th century. To quote pianist-singer Michael Feinstein, "The creations that began in the 1920s had a certain level of sophistication in the words, a clever turn of phrase that appeals still today, and speaks to the human condition." Pianist-singer Robin Connell delights in performing favorite selections from the Songbook to appreciative audiences in venues or virtually.
