Course Description

Students will be introduced to painting in the style of impressionism. Students will focus on painting the effects of light using color pigment in oil and working from a still life set up under warm and cool light. In addition, students will learn setting up a palette, color mixing, and paint application.   


9"x12" or 11"x14" Canvas panels ( Can be purchased at Hobby Lobby or Michael art stores) Oil paints: 6 colors plus white Cadmium Lemon Yellow Cadmium Yellow Red Alizarin Crimson French Ultramarine Blue Cerulean Blue Titanium White Paint brushes various sizes Pallette Knife paper towels Charcoal for drawing Odorless turpentine Mixing board or Palette paper for mixing paint, medium size palette ( Students may use palette paper, medium size works best) *You may purchase supplies at Hobby Lobby, Michaels or Service Reproduction Please contact Scott if you have any questions 616.745.8297
